Outlook 2010 - Email Setup


**NOTE** These instructions assume you are connected to a mc.net Internet Connection. If your device is connected to another ISP the Outgoing Server Settings most likely will change. Please see our Third Party SMTP Servers page or contact your ISP for the appropriate e-mail settings.

Step 1
  • Open Microsoft Outlook 2010
  • Select the File Tab. Choose Info.
  • Under Account Information, Select the Account Settings button.

Step 2

Under the Email Tab. Select the 'New' button.

Step 3

Check the box at the bottom for 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types'.

Step 4

Choose the E-mail Service: Put a dot in 'Internet E-mail'

Step 5

Make sure that your settings look like the settings shown in this screenshot.

The following are the most important:

  • Your Name: Your Name (eg. John Smith)
  • E-mail Address: username@mc.net

  • Incoming mail server (POP3):
    mail.mc.net: For @mc.net accounts
    joltmail.mc.net: For @joltmail.com accounts
    webmail.mc.net: For @domainname.com accounts

  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
    mail.mc.net: For @mc.net accounts
    joltmail.mc.net: For @joltmail.com accounts
    webmail.mc.net: For @domainname.com accounts

  • User Name:
    First part or full e-mail address: For @mc.net accounts
    First part of e-mail address: For @joltmail.com accounts
    What was assigned when the account was created: For @domainname.com accounts

  • Password: Must be the password provided.

Step 6

Click the 'OK', 'Next' and then 'Finish' buttons and now you should be able to send and receive email.
